Orbit Guides didn't come from a spreadsheet or market research. It came from a piece of paper taped behind a door in Madrid.
How it all started
Julia Bacchi and Luis Alvarez are a couple who travels the world — and stays in many Airbnbs along the way. Over time, it became impossible not to notice: Most hosts either sent too many messages (on chat, WhatsApp, etc.) or too little information. Or both at the same time.
At an Airbnb in Madrid, the only information we found in the property was a torn, stained paper behind the door with a very difficult to read Wi-Fi password.
Julia, a host herself, graduated in Tourism and Hotel Management from PUCRS and a front-end developer, knew both ends of the problem. Luis, a senior fullstack developer, knew how to solve it. Together, in Santa Catarina, they built from scratch — with a lot of code and a lot of love — the tool they always wished they'd found, as guests and as hosts.
The result is Orbit Guides: an interactive digital guide, beautiful and easy to use, that saves time for hosts and transforms the arrival of guests.
